You've suffered injuries in a car accident; and consulted with your Physician who agrees therapy is necessary. Luckily ICBC makes massage coverage available to victims of motor vehicle accidents.
All of our Therapists are registered providers with ICBC.
We can provide direct billing to ICBC for your accident related massage therapy claims. We also offer flexible appointment times throughout the week.

Our Therapists are all registered health providers with ICBC.
This means that should you need massage therapy due to a motor vehicle accident we are able to direct bill ICBC for a portion of your treatment.
The availability of ICBC covered RMT depends on your individual case and should be discussed with your adjuster before hand.

Each ICBC Massage treatment is tailored to your individual injuries and needs.

We offer an initial ICBC visit of 45 minutes.
This involves: consultation/assessment, massage therapy, and discussing a treatment plan for your massage therapy.
Subsequent treatments are normally 30 minutes in length and will be focused towards hands on treatment and remedial exercise; though there may be need for short re-assessment periods.

If you require Registered Massage Therapy for your injuries please consult with your Medical Practitioner and Adjuster.
We offer appointments throughout the week for initial visits and have flexible appointment times for subsequent visits.

Susan hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba where she graduated as an R.N. from the Grace Hospital School of Nursing. She has called the lower mainland of British Columbia home for many years, and like most former residents of Winnipeg, she thinks the west coast is a great place to spend the winter.

Susan is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and has been in full time practice for 15 years.

Her nursing background includes experience in acute coronary care, surgical intensive care, and neurology. Along with developing an appreciation for the client’s experience going through a health crisis, she also developed an interest in prevention, in the ongoing management of chronic conditions, and the relationship between state of mind and the development of physical diseases. She believes in the therapeutic value of stress reduction through massage therapy

Susan has traveled to San Diego to study under one of the foremost experts Dr Michael Yapko in areas of pain management, depression and anxiety. She has found ways to incorporate this knowledge into a both her manual therapy and home care approaches. Above all else, Susan believes in empowering the client to make choices and changes that are most helpful for him/her.

Susan is also well grounded in the injury and rehabilitation aspects of massage therapy and is a registered provider for ICBC, DVA, and RCMP. She works with many clients with chronic conditions such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, cancer, and fibromyalgia, just to name a few. Many of her clients are disabled, and use wheelchairs, and she has an electric table to accommodate them. (Our building is handicapped accessible). She has advanced training in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and acupressure.

Josh is handling many ICBC clients, athletic and sports injuries, as well as anyone seeking to find improvement through massage. He has worked in varied environments from massage clinics, physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics as well as onsite work with athletes and sports teams.

Josh is the newest to the clinic having moved from Ontario in 2009 where he was practicing as an RMT.
He obtained his training in Massage Therapy in Ontario with his personal preference throughout school being the treatment of athletes and athletic or sports related injuries. He has tried his hand in a few varying environments in an attempt to find what suits him best. Josh has worked in Spa’s, a Chiropractic multidisciplinary clinic, a Physiotherapy clinic and now feels at home in the Port Coquitlam Therapeutic Massage Clinic.

His experience ranges from relaxation and general massage to motor vehicle accident claims, workplace injuries, as well as athletic and sports injuries. Currently while expanding his new practice Josh is handling many ICBC clients as well as athletic and sports injuries, though anyone seeking to find improvement through massage is welcome. Much of Josh’s experience has been in dealing with injuries and he enjoys the challenge in treating a new case. His belief being that any disruption in the body will lead to undesirable results and Massage Therapy having the necessary skills to help correct these problems. Often techniques like muscle stripping, myofacial work, stretching, joint mobilizations and active rehabilitation have been the key to helping his clients recover from their injuries.

Currently Josh is interested in and has been pursuing extended training in Neuromuscular Techniques, and Core Stabilization.

If you would like to book an appointment with Josh please call us at 604 945 9401 or email us.

Port Coquitlam Therapeutic Massage Clinic has been serving the Tri-city area since 1995, and all therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapy of BC Each of our therapists have been trained in a variety of disciplines while at the same time developing a special interest of their own. The types of treatment we offer include deep tissue work, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, neuromuscular therapy, Swedish and relaxation massage, breast massage, pre and post natal massage, and sports massage. We have many years experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of injuires, such as those that occur in motor vehicle accidents. Our therapists are registered providers with I.C.B.C.. and we are pleased to offer our clients the economic advantage of being able to bill directly for treatments.

Assessment is an integral part of therapy, and we believe in empowering our clients with pertinent information regarding his/her condition along with a home care plan.

Our clinic is located in the recently redeveloped downtown core of central Port Coquitlam. We are south of the Lougheed Highway, on Elgin Avenue, just on the immediate south side of the underpass by Canadian Tire, and close to the City Hall. Our clinic is located in Elgin House directly across the street from Elgin Medical Centre, and is wheelchair accessible. The redevelopment has greatly enhanced the area, with many new restaurants, coffee shops, and trendy stores to enjoy, while still maintaining the friendly and small town atmosphere that we all have come to appreciate.

Our treatment rooms are exceptionally spacious, and comfortable, and we strive to maintain a quiet and peaceful ambience for our clients to relax in. Same day appointments are often available. We are open Monday through Saturday and most evenings. Please call 604-945-9401 to arrange an appointment.
